The Theme This Year Is –
“EVANS FOR EVERYONE”
What is EvansFest? EvansFest (formerly Evans Days) has been in existence since 1984. It was originally a family festival to celebrate Evans businesses. It’s still a family event but has expanded to include residents and businesses from all the surrounding towns.
EvansFest is held on the first Saturday after Labor Day. In 2015 this is Sept. 12th. It’s located at City Park, 39th and Golden in Evans.
This year we will be back where it all started – City Park. Riverside Park was destroyed in the Sept. floods IN 2013. The City Park location was such a hit last year that we didn’t even think about having it anywhere else in 2015. There’s lots of shade and everything is close and easy to get to. Everyone loved it!
Start your day at 8 am breakfast burritos or a breakfast sandwich for Slawpy Barn or a big cinnamon roll from Schwartz’s Krautburger Kitchen. The EvansFest parade complete with floats, marching bands, cars and lots of kids starts at 10:00 at the old Evans Fire Station, heads south and winds its way back around City Park. There you’ll find lots of vendor booths, food booths and beer, water and soda. There are kids’ games and entertainment, and a variety of continuous live music to keep everyone’s toes tapping.
The day ends around 3:00 p.m. with lots of happy people.
This is all possible due to the hard work of the Evans Area Chamber of Commerce with the invaluable help of the City of Evans Parks and Recreation Departments.
It couldn’t happen at all without the support of our many generous sponsors, many of whom have been with us from the beginning. We appreciate them and hope you do too.
